Booking Terms

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms apply when you book a tattoo appointment with veda.ink. By paying a deposit you confirm that you have read and accept them. They don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Who you are booking with

veda.ink is the trading name of Karina Viktorova, a self-employed tattoo artist (sole trader) working in Brighton, United Kingdom. Address: Flat 19, 30 South Street, Brighton BN41 2AQ, United Kingdom. Email: Veda.inktattoo@gmail.com. Not VAT registered.

2. How booking works

  • You send a request through this site (or Instagram). I reply by email, usually within 1–2 days, and we discuss the idea, placement and size.
  • I give you a price — per piece, or per day for larger work — in writing by email, together with the proposed date.
  • You pay the deposit. Your appointment is confirmed only once the deposit has arrived; I don't start design work before that.
  • I prepare your custom design and show it to you before the appointment. The balance is payable on the day.

3. Deposit

  • The minimum deposit is £200 per day of tattooing. For larger or multi-day pieces the quote may state a higher amount.
  • The deposit is deducted from the total price of your tattoo (from the last session, for multi-session work).
  • It covers design and preparation time and the slot reserved for you, which cannot be offered to anyone else. For that reason it is non-refundable, except as set out in sections 4 and 5. This is standard practice in tattooing.

4. Cancellations and rescheduling

You will lose your deposit if:

  • you cancel or reschedule with less than 72 hours' notice;
  • you reschedule more than once (one reschedule with at least 72 hours' notice keeps your deposit; a second one needs a new deposit);
  • you make major changes to your idea or design after design work has started (a new deposit is required for the new design);
  • you arrive intoxicated — alcohol or drugs — and cannot be tattooed;
  • you decide not to get tattooed;
  • you do not show up for your appointment.

If I have to cancel — illness, emergency or anything on my side — you choose between a new date and a full refund of your deposit. If I decide on health or safety grounds that I can't tattoo you and you told me about the relevant condition in advance, your deposit is refunded in full.

5. Your 14-day right to cancel

Because we agree the booking by email or online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel for any reason within 14 days of paying your deposit.

By paying the deposit you ask me to start design work straight away, without waiting for those 14 days to pass. If you cancel within the 14 days, I refund the deposit less a reasonable amount for the work already done by then — the time spent on consultation and design — which may be up to the full deposit if the design has already been drawn. Once the 14 days have passed, or once the service has been fully performed, section 4 applies.

To cancel, email Veda.inktattoo@gmail.com with a clear statement — for example:

To Karina Viktorova (veda.ink), Flat 19, 30 South Street, Brighton BN41 2AQ, United Kingdom: I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the tattoo appointment booked for [date]. Name: [your name]. Date: [today's date].

6. On the day

  • You must be 18 or over and bring photo ID. UK law does not allow tattooing anyone under 18, even with a parent's consent — no exceptions.
  • Arrive sober and well rested, having eaten. No alcohol for 24 hours before the appointment. I will not tattoo anyone who appears intoxicated (see section 4).
  • You will complete a consent and medical form. Please tell me in advance about anything that could matter: pregnancy or breastfeeding, diabetes, epilepsy, heart or blood conditions, immune disorders, blood-thinning medication, allergies, skin conditions at the tattoo site, recent surgery or sunburn. I may decline to tattoo on health grounds; that is a safety decision, not a judgement.
  • Please arrive on time. Significant lateness shortens the session and may mean the piece can't be finished as planned.
  • I may refuse or stop a tattoo if I believe it is unsafe or inappropriate — including designs copied from another artist's work.

7. Design and copyright

  • Every design is drawn for you. I don't copy other artists' tattoos and I don't reproduce my clients' designs for anyone else.
  • The design remains my copyright. You may not have it tattooed by another artist, or reproduce or sell it. You are of course free to show off the tattoo itself.
  • Photos of your finished tattoo appear in my portfolio and on social media only if you agree to that on the consent form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by email.

8. Aftercare and touch-ups

You will get aftercare instructions on the day; following them is your responsibility and makes the biggest difference to how the tattoo heals. Healing varies from person to person. If a small area needs attention after healing, contact me and we will look at a touch-up — problems caused by not following aftercare, sun exposure or skin conditions are not covered.

9. Prices and payment

Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and confirmed by email before you pay a deposit. If the design or size changes substantially, the price may change — I will tell you before going ahead. The balance is payable on the day of the appointment.

10. Problems and complaints

If something isn't right, email Veda.inktattoo@gmail.com and I will reply within 14 days. If we can't resolve it between us, you can contact the Citizens Advice consumer service (0808 223 1133) or use a certified alternative dispute resolution provider; I am not obliged to take part in ADR but will consider it in good faith. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
